Hi! I'm Manh

I'm a senior studying B.S in Computer Science, with Software Engineering concentration at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).

I have involved in various teamwork/individual projects, majority of which are developing application and tinkering with robotics.

I am currently the Secretary of Chicago EDT and I manage our website and media. I am an organizer of SparkHacks Hackathon @UIC this year and I am developing our website!

Fun Fact: On 10/13/24, I ran Chicago Marathon 2024 in 4 hours 51 minutes 🏅

  • FPT Software – Front-end developer

    June – August 2024
    • Used React, TypeScript to implement an online order form.
    • Collaborated with backend engineers to deploy two features using Azure DevOps, enhancing user experience with a video demo for product guidelines.

  • UIC - Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

    • Assisted over 50 students in C++ coding projects, laboratories, and exam reviews, leading to improved completion rates and exam performance.

SparkHacks 2025 - Web Developer, Hackathon Organizer

  • Designed and Developed the Frontpage with Astro, Tailwind
  • Developed a dashboard website using Astro & Firebase, enabling 400+ participants to register, track application status, and check in via QR code scanning.
  • Managed Firestore database, optimizing read/write operations, ensuring data security, and exporting participants’ data to Google Sheets for historical tracking.

  • Maintained website using WordPress and ensured the server operated smoothly.
  • Managed Instagram and participated in the annual involvement fair and engineering events to promote the organization.

Captain of Team Air at Chicago EDT @UIC

Aug 2023 - May 2024
  • Guided a team of 10 people to build an autonomous drone for SUAS 2024 Competition; split team into mechanical and software sub-teams resulting in high efficiency and collaboration.
  • Optimized drone to pass 5/6 autonomy requirements for first time by scheduling lots of test flights (3x number of flights in previous year) in a legal airfield 30 minutes’ drive away from campus.

    A Hackathon Website that serves +400 hackers and help organizers manage the event: process forms, check in hacker to get attendance and food.

    A Multiplayer Chinese Chess! Any user can login with their Google Account or register new account. Then they can join any room or create their own room to play against other players. Rooms must be strictly isolated and player moves and room enter must be updated in real time.

    My team Air of Chicago EDT at UIC, a drone enthusiast team, participated in 2024 SUAS Competition and competed with other 68 universities internationally. The mission was creating an autonomous drone that performs some object-detection task in a wide airfield.
